Why I built BhaktiVerse
Namaste, I'm Anitesh Shaw, and I created BhaktiVerse.
Not everyone can travel to the great temples of India. Many of our elders long for darshan at Ayodhya, Puri or Vaishno Devi but can no longer make the journey, and many of us live far from the temples we grew up with. BhaktiVerse is my humble attempt to bring a little of that feeling home: to ring the bell, light the diya and offer the aarti at a real temple through online puja, at the Ram Mandir, at Jagannath Puri, at Vaishno Devi and 9 more, and to sit with a mala and do your jap wherever you are.
I also wanted one calm place where anyone can sing the right words of an aarti, understand what a mantra means, and know which puja falls on which day and what goes in the thali, without searching across a dozen websites full of pop-ups. A place that stays true to tradition and still works on a phone held in one hand during the puja.
What you will find here
- Aarti, chalisa, mantra and bhajan library: 115 traditional texts with transliteration and the meaning of every verse, 34 aartis and 11 chalisas among them.
- Mantras with how to chant them, and a 108-bead jap mala that can count by voice.
- Online puja: ring the bell, light the diya, offer flowers and do the aarti, by God or at a real temple.
- Temples of India: 28 temples on a map, including all twelve Jyotirlingas.
- Puja vidhi and samagri lists, the festival calendar and SarthiAI, a guide to spiritual questions in the light of the Bhagavad Gita.
How the texts are checked
Every aarti, chalisa, mantra and stotra on BhaktiVerse is a traditional text. Long texts are compared with established sources such as sanskritdocuments.org and Sanskrit Wikisource, and the transliteration and meanings are written for this site. Aartis are sung a little differently from region to region, so if a line differs from the one your family sings, or you spot a mistake, please write to me. Corrections are always welcome.
Promises I keep
- Free for everyone. No sign-up, no paywall.
- No ads and no tracking cookies on the website.
- Your prayers stay with you. Prayers you offer in the online puja and your jap count are saved only on your own device.
- Real numbers only. The counts you see, from readings to pujas offered and mantras chanted, are real and anonymous. They are never inflated.
- Credit where it is due. Temple photographs are freely licensed and credited on each page; videos are played from devotional channels on YouTube.
- Spiritual guidance, not professional advice. SarthiAI answers only spiritual questions and does not replace a doctor, lawyer or counsellor.
This is just the beginning
BhaktiVerse is only a start. I will keep bringing more temples, more pujas and more beautiful devotional experiences to you. Your support, your daily puja and jap, and your feedback are what help it grow, so please tell me what you would love to see next.
