पूजा विधि का अर्थ · The meaning of each offering

Offering puja to Maa Kali

Every step of a Hindu puja has a meaning. Do them with devotion, slowly and with a still mind, and the simplest offering becomes complete.

  1. घंटी · Ghanti

The bell is rung on entering the temple: its sound awakens the mind, drives away distraction and announces the devotee to the deity.

  2. दीप · Deep

The flame of the diya stands for knowledge removing the darkness of ignorance. Lighting it invites the divine presence into the space.

  3. पुष्प · Pushp

Flowers are offered as the most beautiful thing nature gives: a symbol of offering our heart, fresh and fragrant, at the deity’s feet.

  4. आरती · Aarti

The lamp is waved in clockwise circles before the deity while the aarti is sung. It is the heart of every puja, a thanksgiving with light.

  5. शंख · Shankh

The conch’s sound, said to carry the primordial Om, purifies the atmosphere and marks the most sacred moments of worship.

  6. भोग · Bhog

Food is offered first to God and then received as prasad, a reminder that everything we have is a gift.

Is online puja a replacement for a temple visit?

No. It is a way to remember the divine every day: at home, at work or when far from a temple. What matters most is the bhav, the devotion in your heart.

Which deity should I worship today?

BhaktiVerse opens on today’s darshan: the deity of a festival that falls today, or the deity traditionally worshipped on this day of the week (Monday Mahadev, Tuesday and Saturday Hanuman ji, Wednesday Ganesh, Thursday Shri Hari, Friday Maa Lakshmi, Sunday Surya Dev). You can choose any deity.

Is my prayer saved or shared?

No. What you write as a prayer stays on your device and is never sent to BhaktiVerse or anyone else.
