1

Mudakaratta-modakam sada vimukti-sadhakam Kaladharavatamsakam vilasi-loka-rakshakam, Anayakaika-nayakam vinashitebha-daityakam Natashubhashu-nashakam namami tam Vinayakam.

I bow to Vinayaka, who joyfully holds a modak in his hand, who always leads us to liberation, who wears the crescent moon, protects the world, is the one leader of those without a leader, slew the elephant demon and quickly destroys the misfortunes of those who bow to him.

2

Natetarati-bheekaram navoditarka-bhasvaram Namat-surari-nirjaram natadhikapad-uddharam, Sureshvaram nidhishvaram gajeshvaram ganeshvaram Maheshvaram tam-ashraye paratparam nirantaram.

I always take refuge in him: terrible to those who do not bow, shining like the rising sun, to whom gods and demons bow, who lifts his devotees out of great calamities; lord of the gods, lord of treasures, lord of elephants, lord of the ganas, the great Lord, higher than the highest.

3

Samasta-loka-shankaram nirasta-daitya-kunjaram Daretarodaram varam varebha-vaktram-aksharam, Kripakaram kshamakaram mudakaram yashaskaram Manaskaram namaskritam namaskaromi bhasvaram.

I bow to the radiant one who brings good to all the worlds, who drove away the elephant demon, big-bellied and excellent, with the face of a noble elephant, imperishable; the source of compassion, forgiveness, joy and fame, who gives a good mind to those who bow to him.

4

Akinchanarti-marjanam chirantanokti-bhajanam Purari-poorva-nandanam surari-garva-charvanam, Prapancha-nasha-bheeshanam Dhananjayadi-bhooshanam Kapola-dana-varanam bhaje purana-varanam.

I worship the ancient elephant: who wipes away the distress of the poor, who is praised in the ancient scriptures, the elder son of Shiva, who crushes the pride of the demons, fearsome at the dissolution of the world, adorned with serpents like Dhananjaya, the elephant with the fragrant temples.

5

Nitanta-kanta-danta-kantim-antakantakatmajam Achintya-roopam-anta-heenam-antaraya-krintanam, Hridantare nirantaram vasantam-eva yoginam Tam-ekadantam-eva tam vichintayami santatam.

I always meditate on that one-tusked Lord alone: with a tusk of exquisite beauty, son of Shiva, the destroyer of Death; of unthinkable form and without end, who cuts away all obstacles, and who lives always in the hearts of yogis.
