Jai Ambe Gauri Aarti (Shri Durga Aarti) Lyrics
Jai Ambe Gauri, Maiya Jai Shyama Gauri, Tumko nishdin dhyavat, Hari Brahma Shivari.
Victory to Mother Ambe, the fair Gauri and the dark Shyama; Vishnu, Brahma and Shiva meditate on you day and night.
Maang sindoor virajat, tiko mrigmad ko, Ujjwal se dou naina, Chandravadan neeko.
Vermilion shines in your hair parting and a musk tilak on your brow; your two eyes are radiant and your face is lovely as the moon.
Kanak samaan kalevar, raktambar raajai, Raktapushp gal maala, kanthan par saajai.
Your form glows like gold, dressed in red; a garland of red flowers adorns your neck.
Kehari vaahan raajat, khadag khappar dhaari, Sur-nar-muni-jan sevat, tinke dukhhaari.
You ride the lion, holding the sword and the skull-cup; gods, humans and sages serve you, and you take away their sorrows.
Kaanan kundal shobhit, naasaagre moti, Kotik Chandra Divakar, sam raajat jyoti.
Earrings grace your ears and a pearl your nose; your light shines like millions of moons and suns.
Shumbh-Nishumbh bidaare, Mahishasur ghaati, Dhumra Vilochan naina, nishdin madmaati.
You tore apart Shumbha and Nishumbha and slew Mahishasura; your glance destroyed Dhumralochana, and your eyes are ever filled with divine fervour.
Chand-Mund sanhaare, Shonit Beej hare, Madhu-Kaitabh dou maare, sur bhayheen kare.
You destroyed Chanda and Munda and Raktabija; you slew Madhu and Kaitabha and freed the gods from fear.
Brahmani, Rudrani, tum Kamala Rani, Aagam-nigam bakhaani, tum Shiv patrani.
You are Brahmani, Rudrani and Queen Kamala (Lakshmi); the scriptures sing your glory, and you are Shiva's chief queen.
Chaunsath yogini mangal gaavat, nritya karat Bhairon, Baajat taal mridanga, aru baajat damru.
The sixty-four yoginis sing auspicious songs and Bhairava dances, as cymbals, mridanga and damru resound.
Tum hi jag ki maata, tum hi ho bharta, Bhaktan ki dukh harta, sukh sampati karta.
You alone are the Mother of the world and its sustainer; you remove your devotees' sorrows and bring them happiness and plenty.
Bhuja chaar ati shobhit, var mudra dhaari, Manvaanchhit phal paavat, sevat nar naari.
Your four arms are beautiful, one raised in the gesture of blessing; the men and women who serve you receive what their hearts desire.
Kanchan thaal virajat, agar kapoor baati, Shrimaalketu mein raajat, koti ratan jyoti.
A golden plate holds the lamp of agar and camphor; at Malketu (your shrine) shines a light like a million jewels.
Shri Ambeji ki aarti, jo koi nar gaavai, Kahat Shivanand Swami, sukh-sampati paavai.
