The Vaijayanti garland at his neck, the young one plays the sweet flute; earrings glitter at his ears: Nandalal, the joy of Nanda. His body is dark as the sky, and Radhika shines beside him, O friend; the forest-garlanded one stands among the creepers. Curls dark as black bees, a musk tilak, a glow like the moon: lovely is the image of the beloved of Shyama.

The golden peacock-feather crown gleams; the gods long for his darshan and rain heaps of flowers from the sky. The murchang and sweet mridang play, and among the gopis is the matchless love of the cowherd maiden Radha.

Those are the beautiful feet of Shri Banwari from which the holy Ganga appeared: Ganga who takes away the sins of the Kali age, whose very remembrance breaks delusion, who lives in the matted locks on Shiva's head and washes away the mire of sin.

The sand on the Yamuna's bank sparkles; the flute is playing in Vrindavan, with gopis, cowherd boys and cows all around. He smiles softly like moonlight, and the noose of worldly life is cut. O Lord, hear the cry of this humble, suffering one.
