इतिहास History

On 25 February 1970 ISKCON's devotees moved into their new temple on Watseka Avenue, between Venice and Culver City. In the summer of 1971 the presiding deities, Sri Sri Rukmini-Dvarakadhisha, were installed, and the community took the name New Dvaraka.

Under Srila Prabhupada's personal direction, Los Angeles became a model for the rest of ISKCON and its Western world headquarters. In 1977 devotees opened the Bhagavad-gita Museum here, which tells the Gita's teachings in dioramas.
